About me
Originally from the North East of England, I moved to London to pursue an MA in Digital Culture and Society at Kings College London. Since graduating with a distinction I went on to work for Sutton as an Account Executive, working with a wide range of clients including Clod Ensemble, Humber Street Gallery and Jamie Reid, English Heritage and Southbank Centre. I am now a Marketing Executive for Cornerstone at Penguin Executive. In my spare time I have written for a number of publications, including Into the Fold, and managed my own blog. I have also managed the social media accounts for two businesses in Yorkshire, Oxfam Petergate and Red Box, in which I created all their content.
Projects
  • Social Media and Marketing Intern
Social Media and Marketing InternWhilst at university I worked with Oxfam at their Petergate, Oxfam, store on their marketing channels, with the goal of raising their profile locally. I worked as part of a team of two, with sole responsibility for the shop's blog and Facebook page. I planned content for the shop's weekly blog posts, upping this to two a week. Through the blog I raised Facebook engagement by 95% and online sales by over 200%.
  • Co-Editor- Student Minds Blog
Co-Editor- Student Minds BlogWhilst at university I acted as co-Editor of the Student Minds blog for a year. This required reading submissions from the public, and ensuring they were not only grammatically correct, but adhered to strict guidelines set by the charity to ensure that everyone could use the blog safely. Once edited, the blogs then had to be uploaded onto the site regularly. I have also written for the blog myself.
  • Press Campaign- Windermere Jetty Museum
Press Campaign- Windermere Jetty MuseumRecently I help run the press campaign for the opening of Windermere Jetty Museum in the Lake District, which houses an internationally renowned collection of boats. The museum was opening following a £20m development by Lakeland Arts. I helped to run and manage to press trips, one for the opening, and one for the official opening by HRH Prince of Wales. Throughout the press campaign I secured key pieces of coverage including securing a feature by Simon Ings in the FT Magazine, which can be see
  • Jamie Reid at Humber Street Gallery- Press Campaign
Jamie Reid at Humber Street Gallery- Press CampaignAs part of the press campaign for Jamie Reid's solo show at Humber Street Gallery, in Hull, I secured a number of key interviews, both in national publications and specialist sites. Alongside a national cover and interview for The Big Issue, I helped pitch and manage key interviews with Aiga Eye on Design and Independent. This was particularly tricky as Jamie was located in Liverpool, and times for interview had to be organised to accomodate his needs, and that of the client, Humber Street Galle
  • HOW MY SCARS AFFECTED MY BODY DYSMORPHIA
HOW MY SCARS AFFECTED MY BODY DYSMORPHIAI pitched and wrote a piece for Into The Fold on how my recent, life saving surgery, affected my battle with body dysmorphia, that I had finally controlled after nine years of struggle. The piece looked out how advertising and social media affected my struggles, and concluded that my scars were actually a sign of strength, not imperfection. I pitched the piece to Into The Fold's Editor, Camilla, who subsequently edited the piece once I had submitted it. The piece can be found at: https://www.i
