Bio-Inspired Textiles

  • Ellis van der Does

Bio-Inspired Textiles (BIT) is an interdisciplinary research project combining biology, materials science, and textile design disciplines. BIT explores how to apply elements from the design of biological materials to textile design practices. They work with students, practitioners, and industry to explore how bio-informed textiles can enhance current sustainable design practice. Want to know more about how the project came about and what are Bio-Inspired structures are? Please watch the creative film below. There are eight Bio-Inspired structures. For each of these structures I made an educational animation. I’ve posted two below, the others can be viewed at https://www.bioinspiredtextiles.com/structures
