About me
I have an interest in the capacity for product design to create a narrative around a product offering for customers and clients. Through grounded user research and a vigorous process a resolution is found to benefit a client. My own process has been described as far more analytical than most designers, combining user research with contextual studies to create a response that is firmly aware of its use case. I believe that the reason we see products fail is because of a lack of purpose wrought by a watered-down analysis and weak product placement. While studying Product Design I have gained an interest in Service Design, management, marketing, copy-writing and many other areas. I wish to pursue a masters in Service Design or Design Management at some point in the future.
Projects
  • The Conran Shop Rebrand Concept
The Conran Shop Rebrand ConceptRefining a retail company's branding and website to match its rewarding in-store experience. This meant bringing clarity to its message and changing the website to refocus on expressing a lifestyle yet at the same time bringing products to the fore. Exploring the brand's heritage as well as its present and future amidst a retail market that is continually evolving.
  • Agalma - Exploring Nostalgia
Agalma - Exploring NostalgiaA project centered around our society's addiction to society, the aim was to make a user consider what items in their life truly meant something to them, and what artifacts were simply paraphernalia. While we focus on the ideas of 're-using' and 'recycling' with the aim of reducing our CO2 footprint, we must realise that we must first 'reduce' how much we consume.
  • Dean Street Pillow Talk
Dean Street Pillow TalkA smart home project in collaboration with Recipe (formerly Precipice) design studio. The aim was to create a smart device that was truly useful and rewarding to a specific user. I selected to focus on the LGBTQ+ community. Drawing on both personal experience and that of friends to create a truly unique response to an industry brief that felt satisfying in its subject matter.

Refining brand copy as well as illustrations. In addition to this resolving the circulation of three company logos in physical stores. This has led to an ongoing conversation with the creative director regarding the company’s direction. Furthermore, I am developing in my own time a customer loyalty scheme as well as an application and re-designed website.

A course centered on justifying the why as much as the how in design. With deep contextual studies and a focus on Human Centred Design making sure the resulting final form of a project (whether physical or not) had a keen sense of rational.
