About me
I am fascinated by materials and contrasts, by the texture of a surface, by the skin of the design. As a designer, I like everything that can be improved, discovered. I like the use of new technologies for the unconventional fields of the design, especially 3D printing. As a textile designer, I like to work on the body, to improve its functionality but also it's aesthetic and it's feeling. While as an industrial designer I like to work for the user experience, play with the materials and the shapes.
Projects
  • Tactical
TacticalA haptic textile, where the design of the modular pattern is made by groups of small pearls that enlarge and shrink on the surface. This formula creates a three-dimensional effect on the fabric where some zones will be extremely dense, while others will be completely empty. The strong tactile expression is emphasized by the contrast between the very smooth and shiny textile base, and its slightly rubbery and opaque applied pattern. Tactical has been awarded the Platinum A' Design Award in Texti
  • City Of Sound
City Of SoundThe project, inspired by the city, is been realized by using 3D printing technology to make three-dimensional details on the surface of a bolero. The shoulders are covered by thorns designed through a software that translates sounds into shapes, in this case, the city's traffic noises were the sound input. While the sleeves have been modeled starting from the traffic map of Germany And stylized in hexes that recalls the thorns on the shoulders. The most interesting part of the project was to obs
  • Frame
Frame Can a piece of waste turn into a completely new and modern object? The answer to this question is "frame" a sustainable collection were old cans are transformed in unique and versatile pieces. Each creation is made with various "fragments" of what remains of a precious material such as aluminum, which is expressed in all its beauty through folds and irregular angles that emphasize the main particularities of the material: smoothness of the surface, light reflection and lightness.
  • K-Lapse
K-LapseProject made together with a multimedia biotechnical designer that created the “Kombucha leather”, a material similar to real leather, biodegradable, easy to grow even at home. This material is made with fermented black tea, that becomes a SCOBY agent (Symbiotic Culture of Bacteria and Yeast) that is fed and raised with a sugary organic tea, until it is thick enough to be dried and used as a solid piece of material. My challenge as a designer was to combine this material with a regular textile t
  • TermoTouch
TermoTouchFor this project, the use of thermochromic colors has been employed, not to print the patterns but for the 3-dimensional coating in some of the motives of the pattern. The 3-dimensional surface changes color when heated, both by touch or by the body. The pattern has been screen printed on milk fiber, a lightweight, and eco-friendly material, and used for the realization of a kimono top. Whenever the activation temperature is reached, the full pattern is visible, either around the whole piece or
  • A Matter of Tactility
A Matter of TactilityA matter of tactility is based on a low-tech approach to stimulate an interaction with the body through the sense of touch. The project has been developed exploring new possibilities of tactile expression through coating techniques, in order to change the tactile properties of the base textile to bring another dimension of experience, related to touch, in the textile design field. The five realized textiles are characterized by unique sensations upon touch. The spiky one triggers circulation, th

  • Lök II
Lök IILök is a herbs and vegetables knife, a kitchen spatula and a portioner, designed and built bearing in mind of its daily use. The material of which Lök is composed is bamboo, which guarantees hygiene (because of its naturally antibacterial feature) and impermeability, due to its low porosity.
  • Lök & Harp
Lök & HarpLök is a tray made of wood and two layers of aluminum. Those allow the tray extending up to 12 cm, creating more space on the surface and enable to place the tray on your armchair. The plates are designed to be possibly inserted in a special slot on the wood’s surface, allowing its user to use it as a reading desk.
  • Ramen
RamenRamen is a set of chopsticks, simple and elegant. The add of the copper in it, is not only aesthetically relevant, transforming such an object in something precious, but also from the functional point of view, the copper is antibacterial, very important in a culinary context, and it has taste-related characteristic that can give a sense of novelty and surprise when eating. Each chopstick belonging to the set, has a different texture to make the grip on the food easier but also to emphasize the c

    Special mentionAutec
Transmitter modular challenge is the international competition launched in collaboration with Autec, an Italian company leader in the manufacturing of wireless control devices, with certified safety functions, used to remotely control self-propelled or fixed position operating machines for buildings, steel industry, maintenance and logistics in general. The contest was looking for a new concept of transmitting unit characterized by a modular system that enabled the company to customise the remote controls based on their clients’ needs, with a view to offering a custom-solution for the control and handling of all kinds of industrial machines.
