A student not sure of where to start!
Hi! I'm currently a student in 6th form who has an interest in photography and digital marketing but doesn't know where to start...
I would love to know how anyone decided what career they wanted to go into and how they started as I'm currently stuck on what I want to do :)

- Hi Sofia, the best thing you can do (imo) is get some work experience. There are so many things to think about in a career beyond just what your output is (level of ownership, culture of company, type of people you'll be around etc). Nothing helps you make sense of the working world like spending some time in it. There will be quite a few marketing agencies who offer work experience placements, usually detailed on their website - or you can reach out to the HR teams. You've also done a brilliant thing by joining and starting to be active on The Dots. Some great opportunities here, and people always looking for a spare pair of creative hands! To get some experience in marketing.I can't recommend photography as a primary source of business unless your interest really lies in "business". It's all about in-person sales. Better to do it as a side hustle.
