Advice on getting mentorship and what to expect
I really want to get mentorship in the creative industry towards content creation, leadership and building a community. Does anyone has tips/platforms or suggestion for me to start?

- Ask for recommendations from mutual friends and filter down to those (mentors) who are also looking to learn from jnr creatives
- Check out this long list of willing mentors:https://docs.google.com/document/d/1mOHAbda7xVxZLCWJTKhl6G8aiiD4KluCjrdGt9oAhU0/edit?pli=1
- @Gavin Kemp well written advice, thank you for this
- We run a mentoring programme which will be back in the new year. Our free masterclasses is launching this autumn with a session on 'How to utlise social media as a creative' check out Good Nugget's latest Dots post or register here https://lnkd.in/eVAcdHjx using the reference code GNDOTS
- @Pip Jamieson has run a number of talks about this subject. I know that she has not paid for her mentors but considers coaching a different matter. Here's a link to one of the recorded talks https://the-dots.com/projects/webinar-recording-may-2021-how-to-find-a-mentor-maintain-the-relationship-501940
- Mentoring is a slightly more expensive route Than courses but it’s worth it if you find someone that is transparent as a marketing consultant and business coach I mainly help business grow their revenue and help make their business more efficient not sure what kind of mentoring you need but if you need some help I can connect you just drop me a message and connect with me
- Hi Ly,Odd as it may sound you want a very clear expectation of the outcome and deliverables you want. The 3 topics you mention are so broad that each one could justify a seperate mentor. I have 2 at the moment and one is largely tactical, the other is very much strategic.Good mentors 'one 2 one' need paying either by you or through a program you're on. In this regard if you think good advice is expensive try the cost of bad advice. There may be things you can learn from webinars/seminars that can help your development. In terms of finding a mentor you can always aproach people you know and respect - the worst they can say is no.Gavin
