Any tips for making creative friends as a young creative in the london community? (after covid-19)

Would love to know how to meet more creative people - and possibly collaborate after covid-19.
I know there’s a lot of themed events out there but they aren’t completely focused on youth and the younger creatives and it would be nice to have some sort of community!

Might start a young creatives in London meet-up if enough people are interested.

  • Create a virtual event of your own and people will start to gather!
  • There are some fab instagrams you can follow and join in with virtual events - SheSays ldn / Good Girls Eat Dinner / Creative Equals / Bloom / Badass.gal (get yourself featured on there too!) / Ladies Wine & Design London / Edit Girls - reach out to people who you love the work of too!
  • Hi Stephanie,

I personally reccomend to attend as many virtual events as possible, and eventually join some online courses. Also, don't be scared to interact with people on social media: people that work within the creative industry has often curated instagram profiles and you can start from there to have a chat with them. You will be surprised how many people are happy to help and answer to your questions!

I also like the idea to organize online meet-up for young creatives (not necessarely only in London). Universities had to close cause of the virus and for so many students it means no final show and no possibility to find immediately internships. I believe a community could help to keep staying connectected during these difficult times.

    Take care,
    Sara

  • I would say attend events both virtually and physically and connect with audience members
  • There are a wealth of great communities that you can get involved with depending on what you're looking for. NABS represents every creative in the industry and their speed-mentoring and quiz nights are always great. Alternatively have a look at SheSays, Creative Equals, PrideAM, BAME2020 as a handful. Good Girls Eat Dinner especially good.
  • Hi Stephanie,

I’m new to the creative space and also looking for connections and potential collaborations with other young creatives. Would love to chat sometime and be a part of your meet-up.
