Any tips for reaching out to new clients as a photographer on Linked-in?

  • Hi Oliver, I agree with everything that Francis wrote. I would add - search information about your Clients, to explain them in the first, short message why you want to connect with them and what you can offer. And by an offer I don't mean "great quality, beautiful pictures",it should relate directly to their aesthetics, goals as a brand, etc. you will get more attention. Stand out from the crowd, think why you ignore messages with ofers, which you get on your e-mail in egzample, propose the value based on the reasearch you did about the Client, what change you could bring, what you've noticed in their current photograpy material or why they should start to care about having it and ask if they are interested about the details.
  • Hey Oliver, hope all is well mate. Below are some points that helped me out on LinkedIn, as well on emails with getting new clients. Hopefully, they're helpful and not redundant.
    Before you approach
    • Proof/check that your website is on point
    • Give your social a look through
    • Sort your email signature

    On approach
    • Look for people that you have a friend in common with:
    • Connecting via a friend may be a better/easier way in.
    • Ask a friend to make an intro - again, makes it easier

    • If someone new:
    • make the message short and straight to the point
    • Asking for a meeting may be a better approach - win them over in person
    • Let them know what you specialise in, so they know what they'd be booking you for
    • Offer them a "free trial." They can book you at a discounted fee this time round, then for full price if they're happy
