Anyone know of a location with lots of greenery? Client wants an indoors location that looks outside !!?

I have a shoot coming up which needs to look outside, but down to it being winter, client wants to shoot inside.

Lots of plants and greenery are essential, I've thought about Kew/Barbican conservatory but just wondering if anyone knows of any other similar locations or studios? -- unfortunately budget is pretty low too, so cheaper the better :(

Thanks in advance

  • @Emily-Jayne Nolan Most important point is to keep people within the 5 units in order not to be held up to stricter Covid rules ^^.

There is an Orangery in Gunnersbury Park. The building is mostly made of glass, so the Park's plants are visible through it. There are also some plants inside of it. I'm not sure about the prices but probably not very expensive.

There is also a Sky Garden in 20 Fenchurch Street (aka The Walkie Talkie). It's free 7 days a week, and you only have to book a free ticket on the website (now closed till 2nd of December).
    I hope it helps :)
  • @Freddie Rowland Nice, yeah I think the key is keep equipment to a minimal to stay under the radar haha!

Just taken a look at Conservatory Archives too, didn't realise there was one of them round the corner from where I'm based! Looks amazing.

    Thanks again
  • @Emily-Jayne Nolan no worries!

I've defininely seen a fair few unoffical shoots happening there, I think it depends on how much equipment/setup you have.

Same goes for Kew, I've seen quite a few shoots happening in the glasshouses.

    Good luck!
  • @Emily-Jayne Nolan ive taken my camera into the barbican and had a friend there who i photographed think you should be okay, i didnt take any lighting equipment etc tho
  • barbican free normally on sundays but im not sure about it being open due to covid but perhaps check it out, also kew gardens has wonderful green houses too but it costs a sum to enter
  • Hi Emily

The Barbican conservatory is free, so depending on what you are shooting its quite a cost effective option.

Again depends on scale, but Conservatory Archives also have lovely indoor spaces full of greenery.

There is also the Sky Garden, but I haven't been up there in a while so I'm not sure how lush its looking currently.

    hope that helps!

    Freddie
