Anyone know of any great (ideally free) online graphic design courses for beginners? Realising I should be using my isolation time wisely!

- Hey LilyAlongside the online courses, it could be a good idea to do a bit of reading too... I imagine lots of courses will teach you technical information about design software but great design needs great ideas and thinking (that is then beautifully executed)... A couple of online archives come to mind...Eye magazine has a big archive of indepth interviews with great designers, the series is usually called ‘Reputations’ search here http://www.eyemagazine.com/Eye on Design does a similar thing:https://eyeondesign.aiga.org/Creative Review has lots of studio profiles (but some of it is paywalled).https://www.creativereview.co.uk/landing-page/creative-process/https://thegreatdiscontent.com/One book I often recommend to graphic design students is titled ‘Graphic Design as a second language’ by the legendary Bob Gill... I’ll be honest a lot of the examples will feel really really dated in this book but look beyond the surface and it will teach you heaps about how to approach problems as a designer. This is all just a tiny introduction though!
- Yeah i second @Lexandra Damalan , Udemy have dopped their prices significantly on loads of courses. So it is worth taking a look!
- Skillshare are offering two months for free at the moment
- I would highly recommend you to follow Chris Do and The Futur on IG and their YouTube channel for insights of design and business.https://www.youtube.com/user/TheSkoolRockshttps://www.instagram.com/thechrisdo/?hl=enIt's a game changer!
- Try udemy.com they are not free but they are around £10 per course. I would also suggest using Linkedin Premium, you can get a lot of free courses with that. And also youtube if you need to learn to use Photoshop/Illustrator.
- Hey Lily, https://briefbox.me is great - I found it very useful to build my design portfolio after studying illustration; the work I created from their briefs definitely helped me land my first job! Skillshare is also great and usually offers 2 months free to begin with. YouTube is also very useful https://www.youtube.com/user/TheSkoolRocks offers great tips and design advice. Hope this helps! :)
