I think there is a wide gap between creative artists and businessmen no matter what platform you use. Artists entertain themselves on several "portfolio" sites and maybe it is in right way. Business and art may never be in perfect harmony! :)
From my experience, Twitter is much more interactive.
I dont like linkedin , but maybe for marketing it is good...
Yes, I hardly use The Dots to be honest. I've only recently been using it again.
I think for Events/marketing Linkedin does work but I do think for the freelance jobs this is best!
For me personally as an artist, videographer, photographer, Linkedin doesn't really do it for me. However, from a marketing ~ Business background i feel it's a great platform for connecting.
Not necessary)))) Skype is much quicker)))) + fb)))
What do you prefer?
Honestly, I have just started using both having never really understood how to use them as a tool. I think The Dots is better if you have the time and patience. The visuals are infinitely more appealing, however, LinkedIn is much better for direct communication and outreach as that is what it's designed for. Both definitely has it's merits.
From my point of view, there is LinkedIn that is the general network focused on professional life and then there is an 'entire world' of other networks that are specific to each area, for example: graphic designers have Behance, Dribble, musicians have SoundCloud, food lovers/ travelers have TheFork, Tomato... they are also social networks ... We must analyze and focus on the best digital strategy for us and see which networks we want to stand out from.
I think LinkedIn is a fantastic way to connect with other professionals and learn more about each other's experience!
I haven't as of yet created linkedIn, but hopefully I will soon!
I am new to The Dots, and so far I prefer it to LinkedIn, but I do use both :)
Agree LinkedIn is the best method, I don’t like people I don’t know, exploring my personal albums etc and it keeps a level of professionalism
I'm happy to use whatever platform is easiest for the person I'm talking to
I rather connect on Linkedin then for example on Facebook. Other than that I am open to connecting here too.
Too many guys still asking for dates on LinkedIn.. puts me off
Hiya, I don't mind either way. I don't meet many creatives on LinkedIn. What about you?
Linkedin.... and The Dots, where we will hopefuly find all potential prospects looking to hire or collaborate, also here as well as in Linkedin.
Hello, I like to find out what each platform has to offer and try to utilize them in the ways which work best for me, since each one has different advantages. LinkedIn I use mostly for following companies in a professional, (rather than social) mindset, and their potential job offerings.
hello. meet face to face with people... linked in and social media is tools in the process of connecting face to face.
Different platforms provide different advantages and we can't afford to choose one or two, we should be present everywhere if possible :) LinkedIn goes well if looking for a job or building a professional profile and network. To me it's a bit like a dormant business card with a circle of people . I do quite a lot of work via Facebook - it's the single multipurpose platform for me. And for creative people Instagram and Pinterest also work pretty well.
