Does anyone actually like the new Mixcloud branding? If so can you share what you like about it? www.mixcloud.com

  • Really modern and easy on the eyes layout.
  • The headline font is peculiarly different to the trend I see of fonts similar to 'proxima nova' and 'druk wide' (like in Spotify & Converse 'twist what you know') being used by brands appealing to young people.

My reservation was over the amount of individualistic letter forms in the alphabet. Some typefaces I've seen have a small number of letters that call attention to themselves but this one has many.

And I think upon reflection that it is a good thing as cutomers may recognise the brand quicker by seeing this font before they even see the logo.

    (p.s. really love the logo!)
  • I'm not a fan of the font itself but the animations for the brand are where it really comes to life, for me. I think it is something that may grow on people beacuse the initial introduction, at least for me, was a little jarring. But when you see the brand unfold and dance to a beat it really comes into it's own. I think the previous logo was a little obvious and quite dated, this brings the brand in to the right sphere of discussion about pushing the envelope of creativity. So, to finally answer your question! Sorry! I like it.
