Does anyone have a recommendation for a point and shoot camera please?
I'm on the look out for a decent point and shoot camera, as I'd love to pop it in my bag for street shots and on the go photography. Does anyone have any recommendations of a decent one? I'm looking for something reasonably priced too (not a huge budget!).
Thank you for any ideas!

- Not sure of the exact model as I don't use them but I hear great things about Sony
- @Nick de la Force Thank you, I'll definitely check out this site!
- @Linsey M No problem Linsey, Nice shout with mpb @Nick de la Force now I want to purchase more Fuji Lenses!
- @Linsey M no worries check out mpb.com they do great prices on used cameras!
- @Antony Kitson Thank you, I'm definitely more interested in picking one up second hand but its a good idea to check out some of the black Friday deals too. Thanks for the links/ideas! :)
- @Nick de la Force Thanks for the response, no I haven't got one yet - i have heard great things about the Sony cameras..... I will have to have a look at second hand options, as can't stretch to a full price one!I'll check them out! :)
- Not sure it you resolved this already, but check out the Sony RX1R II, an awful name but a great camera with amazing quality in a tiny body.. it's pricey new, but you can get it 2nd hand at a very decent price.
- @Linsey M For used Check Out https://www.wexphotovideo.com/used/camerajungle.co.uk Might be worth waiting for Black Friday deals!
- you could prob get second hand somewhere!
- @Miracle Hurd Thanks, yes, feel I may need to increase my budget! - I don't feel I will get a decent one for £250 :)
- @Robert C Brady This looks very nice - I'm going to have a good look and see if there are any second hand but that is always a bit of a risk too! :)
- @Robert C Brady Not too fussed about interchangable lenses to be honest, mainly would like a fixed point and shoot. I would rather invest in an upgrade of a DSLR if I need interchangable lenses (but not entirely sure?!)Yeah, I feel my bidget may be a little tight, although a friend said she got a very nice Nikon second hand for cheap (But you get what you pay for too!).
- @Linsey M you’re welcome! The Mark I is cheaper than the Mark II on ebay, I’m wanting to get it soon but you’re looking at more £350-£450
- this would rock...:https://www.wexphotovideo.com/sony-alpha-a6000-digital-camera-with-16-50mm-power-zoom-lens-black-1548999/
- @Linsey M tough call for £200...double it and maybe!you need interchangeable lenses or fixed thing?Rx
- @Robert C Brady I already have a canon DSLR (can't remember the model) but its the bottom of the range, which over the years have used SO much.I'm now would really like a decent point and shoot to pop in my bag (so its not taking up too much space) to take street shots - graffiti, portraits, people, mini docu interviews etc....I'd rather have a camera than my phone for this too and I my budget isn't THAT huge. Ideally I would like a second hand one and to spend below £200! but can stretch.I've bought a few canon mark 9/10 on ebay and they have been pretty rubbish (probbaly due to the usage rather than the camera model).Any ideas would be great! :)
- @Linsey M oh so good... what do you neeed it for?
- @William Thomas Charlie Gerrard £250/300 :) (maybe more)
- @Robert C Brady Thanks, I have heard great things about Sony! :)
- @Robert C Brady Yes, I should have mentioned that, £250/300 I'm not sure if thats enough, might be able to stretch to more! :)
- @Miracle Hurd Thank you, will have a look!
- Depends on the price point….
- What is your budget is the most important question? Go Sony id say! Rx
- I also recomend Fujifilm, I have the X-T20 & X-T3 both highly recomended if you want interchangable lense options. The film simulations are excellent.
