Email Marketing

Hey guys, I'm hoping someone could shed some advice on how to gather emails for a marketing campaign for an app launch.

Thank you

  • I'm not a marketing expert but I have built newsletters. Personally, I'd sign up with an email marketing service (MailChimp is hugely popular but there are loads out there). Place their newsletter signup form onto your website (it's usually a cut and paste job for the simplest version). Anyone who enters their details gets stored onto MailChimp (or whatever you use) and you can run campaigns easily via their backend. Make sure you cover yourself for GDPR by expliciting stating that by submitting their details a person signing up is agreeing to receive relevant emails. You'll also legally need an unsubscribe link on emails you send out, but the likes of MailChimp usually make this easy. Also worth considering early on whether you want to sector your market (e.g. investors, customers, etc.) since it's more work if you want to filter lists into categories later. You might sector your market by a checkbox list (I am interested in..) on the signup form, or you might have a separate signup forms (perhaps a general one in your website footer, and a specific form for investors on your investors page, for example). Once you have a signup form on your site, you can now point users to sign up to it via links on social media. As I say, not a marketing expert but that's how I'd do it. Hope this helps.
