Google Chromebook or Mac Book Air? Need to buy a new laptop. Thoughts please!
Not a gamer, a writer, some editing of images and use Google docs / sheets etc.

- @Rémi Lefèvre thank you very much for your advice!
- As a writer with needs for Google Docs access, I would definitely go for a machine that is sturdy, has a decent battery life and just easily connects with everything. With budget and reliability in mind, I'd go Chromebook. The latest ones are pretty affordable, have awesome batteries and run very smoothly. A MacBook Air feels like you would be wasting money on a machine that could do more stuff (and even that...) that you may not need. Also, much easier to use in public spaces as less of a potential beacon for thieves. Now in terms of which Chromebook, that's where the fun starts. The Chromebook Go has an amazing keyboard which you may appreciate, but it's pretty expensive. Something like the Asus Chromebook Flip may be a better fit if you fancy a convertible, otherwise the Acer Chromebook 314 is your go-to option in the GBP 400-450 range.Best of luck!
- @Peter Wright thank you!
- @Isabel Serval thank you!
- Mac or Microsoft surface pro - definitely never chromebook for me.
- Obviously depends on budget but...MacBook Air all the way Claire. All the way.
