  • @Pip Jamieson i got sidetracked and hadn't had a chance to try out the project reordering until today, even though this was one of my biggest bugbears.

    @Allison Tanenhaus @Fay Troote @Raafaye Ali @Ramon Blake Guthrie :-)
  • Hi @Pip Jamieson I love that you don't have to click "show more" for the projects, it's nice to have a bigger glance on it, straight away. I do like the progress bar about profile, though I'm still learning and finding my way round. It does say I'm 100% it does say I'm intermidiate, might be good to know what I can do to move on the next level?
  • Hi all, thank you so much again for all your incredible feedback, I can’t tell you how much we appreciate it.

Excitingly, we’ve just pushed live a couple of updates based on your feedback:
    • You can now delete and edit projects (I’m so sorry we missed this in the first release!)
    • Your profile now shows more of your projects at first glance – yay!

I also wanted to give you a little bit of background as to why we are showing less projects and giving more relevance to your skills and previous full time and freelance experience:
    • This has been a big request from companies we work with, to make it easier for agents and hiring managers to search, view and headhunt talent – which will hopefully increase your chances of picking up jobs and clients. I hope that makes sense :-)
    • We also want to make the community more accessible to people who may consider themselves to be ‘non-creative’ and those that work on ‘non-visual’ based projects – everyone from developers, to producers, project managers and more. They're a crucial part of the collaborative process and it means that The Dots community will be richer by making it more inclusive.

We have more exciting updates based on your feedback coming soon, including a ‘view all projects’ feature and the ability to order your projects.

    Watch this space!
    Pip

  • I love the new look. I prefer the profile layout as well! Can anyone help me with the 'projects you are credited in' section? I am tagged and credited in a project a friend of mine posted on her profile but it isn't showing up on my profile. Help? :)
  • @Pip Jamieson I dig it. I didn't dislike the old version - and there does appear to be occassional issues with messaging when updates come - but it makes stuff easier to find, work is still accessible, and it's not so major a change that I need to relearn how to navigate.
  • Dear @Pip Jamieson & team,

I like the new layout and the look, clean, and visually. I am looking forward to familiarising and get used to, what I have noticed is the 'save' option is no longer there, this feature I like very much and utilize by categorically allowing for me to save contacts and specifically allocate on potential collaborators, potential work opportunities, liked specifics with their works and creativity etc.

    Kindest regards,
  • @Pip Jamieson Love the new layout of The Dots :) And love the platform as a whole and am looking forward to using it even more in future, now that I am moving into the creative digital realm :) Thank you Pip and team :)
  • Just want to say I love the dots, all that the dots team has done to make this beautiful website, i love that it’s always being developed and that you even consider our thoughts. It’s a website and application which feels human and has a heart. I’m just very grateful what you and the dots team has created.

Change is part of growth and I will always welcome it, kindest regards

    Raafaye
  • @Pip Jamieson it is a beautiful space you have created here - thank you for the amazing support
  • Dear @Simon Carter,

The main reason I created The Dots was to build a kind and inclusive platform for us all to enjoy!

Whilst I’m extremely welcoming and appreciative when our community takes the time to give feedback – good and bad – there are ways of giving constructive opinions without being offensive. Other people’s feedback below are great examples of this! Please be kind and constructive moving forward, as I'm a human just like everyone else.

Oh and just for the record, if people are being offensive on the platform (as mentioned, there’s a way to be constructive and kind when giving good & bad feedback), we either unfeature or delete them – depending on how offensive their comments are – to ensure a safe space for everyone, including myself and my team.

    Pip
  • Thank you so much for the brilliant & constructive feedback, I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it :-) We’re working through all of this now, and I’ll keep you posted on updates via this tread!
