Hi! Are there any songwriters who want to teach me the 'essentials' or 'skills' for songwriting? Connect during a zoom call? xx!

- @Jamie Sprosen Thank you thank you! And I will :)
- @Frederique Verblakt haha a lot of musicians are nerdy. Feel free to send me your thoughts - another great podcast which is more about specific songs rather than songwriters is called ‘song exploder’. Would seriously recommend it!
- @Jamie Sprosen Thank you a lot! I am in the end also a bit nerdy, there must be a pattern, special mix or flavour to see in songs right? I will listen to the podcast and do the exercise. Will send you a DM with my 'conclusions' ;). If you would like to discuss later on that would be nice. Just for fun!
- @Ryan Sullivan Ah great thanks. I know there is a lot to learn online, but especially during these times I would love to see and speak to a face :). I will send you a DM!
- Hi Frederique, I'll be happy to discuss this with you. I'm more on the production and composition side of music but am keen to discuss and share.
- A good place to start would be to breakdown songs you like. Learn chords, melodies, lyrics, themes of the songs. The names of producers and songwriters who worked on that song.Someone told me a suggestion once to make song maps & listen to a song three times whilst making notes of everything you can observe in the track. Then try to write a song based on the notes you made. There is also a really good songwriter podcast called ‘and the writer is...’
