Hidden Light Creative Poetry Workshops present an opportunity to explore the magic of poetry in a nurturing, supportive environment, welcoming all, regardless of your background or previous experience. The sessions consist of looking at a variety of poetry, discussing and experimenting with our own writing, encouraging sharing and building a community centred around the joy and hopefulness inherent to creativity. "Hidden Light" takes its name from a sense of the power of creative writing to bring out the light within ourselves and our world, and to illuminate optimism amidst today's challenges. We are based at the Royal Foundation of St Katherine, adjoining the beautiful Yurt Café, and are excited to encourage participants to get involved in live poetry performance opportunities in the Yurt space.

About your facilitator: Jess is a writer, poet and educator based in London, currently studying a PGCert in Teaching Creative Writing at the University of Cambridge. She has lived and worked in Peru and Spain as well as the UK, and studied Combined Honours in Arts at Durham University. Fascinated by the intersection between mental health and creative writing, Jess’s central mission is to use poetry to foster connections and facilitate healing on a personal and community level. She performs regularly and has facilitated workshops at The Pret Foundation, Freedom From Torture and The Royal Foundation of St Katherine.

Sessions are pay what you can. Look forward to seeing you there!
