I am currently writing a short story horror series - should I illustrate some pages between the writing?
I previously had a short horror comic published in Comic Scene UK a couple of years ago, and since then I have had ideas on creating more short stories - two books in fact! One is themed around Christmas, as I love the inherent horror in the winter season (A Christmas Carol is a horror originally!) and the other is themed around nature.
I am an illustrator, but if you look at my portfolio it's very very colourful, which is in opposition to the spooky black, whites and greys of classic horror comic style, so I'm concerned it might ruin the writing element of it.
What do you all think?

- @Liam Clarke Thank you for your feedback, I have illustrated horror previously, it's just I haven't seen many books nowadays with little illustrated inserts without them turning fully into graphic novels!
- If you can, you should. it would help give of the impressions that you, the creator intend for it. (:
