I am looking to start my career as a creative strategist - would you have any advice?
I am a recent graduate from the course MA Fashion Media Practice and Criticism at London College of Fashion (UAL). I have a strong interest in fashion sustainability, design thinking and social innovation and I wish to further explore these themes through research activities or project development. I recently explored the theme of Sustainable Fashion Practices during my Master’s Project. I wrote two pieces, one titled “From ownership to usership: an investigation of alternative fashion practices” and the other one “Designing futures: building a clothes sharing community”. For these projects, I also collaborated with a start up which allows users to borrow and lend clothing to each other. I consulted for them developing a sustainable growth strategy exploring the idea of community and what this would mean in relation to them.
I would like to start working at a sudio or with a freelance strategist in order to learn more about design strategy.

- berniemorrisonltd@gmail.com. More than happy to look at your CV and advise - I really enjoy mentorship and in this disruptive time, doing it digitally is a great solution. By the way, the issue with collaborating with freelancers on projects is that they will be mostly under NDA. Let's start chatting and we can see where we go.
- Thank you @Masakazu Otsuki . What would you say are the most important skills to develop and show? Thank you
- @Bernie Morrison Thank you very much for your message. I would love to get some feedback on my CV. Where can I send it to?
- It is great fun in the world of strategy. I would say get some internships under your belt if you can (they have to pay you now, not much though). A good one will give you experience across the strategic cannon, but if they want a dogsbody steer clear! Have a look at linkedin a few intership positions in design agencies have popped up there recently. Find some agencies you like, follow them and connect with Strategy Directors. Ask if you can go and speak with them over a coffee. Do you have a CV - happy to take a look and advise if you would like.
