  • Start with market research, then a business plan and then a marketing plan - after you've secured all of that then the rest will fall in line! Good luck and if you need any help don't hesitate to reach out!
  • This great book by Angharad Lewis might be a good place to start:

Mag Culture has regular talks and podcasts with people who haves set up their own magazines so this could be a useful resource too:

  • Without knowing what sort of publication it is, its very hard to say.

Generally speaking, you need to figure out what is your publication specifically about, what are you trying to achieve from it (ie money, or expression freedom or maybe both), are you looking for print or digital. If for print are they print on demand or distrubtion, if latter you will probably also need to look into getting ISBN for each issue.

How frequent are the issues? monthly, quarterly, biannunal etc ? Once you got these figured out you will probably have to start looking into funding, normally publication is funded largely by advertisement, being a new publication you would probably struggle to get any, but you could offer them a free ad on the first issue and then the content, unless you are planning to execute the entire publication yourself you would have to start getting a few likeminded people together to collobrate.

Hope this helps and best of luck
