I wanna start 3D art work but do t know where to start and I will not do donut tutorials.

I’ve had a recently flux in creativity and I think I want to go down the route if 3D art (inspiration @carolthekitty on instagram). I would love to get advice or tips on where to start learning and getting into 3D from fellow artists on here.

  • Intranetgirl is the best. Her tutorials are actually interesting and throw you in the deep end in a really good way!
  • @Julie Lu yeah it’s one of those things that you have to know your style of working and visualise it in a 3D space. One program you could start off with in blender (which is free).
  • I have also been looking into it and am excited by all the things you can make. But just like you I want to take my time and really understand the process.
  • @CatweazleMagic . Thank you for the reply.at the moment I’m only planning to learn the software and use it in my own time rather than start using it for a selling point. I’m very aware that with this type of industry it could definitely work as a money thing but I don’t want to push myself into that. This is more for leisure for now.
  • Ha, ha, ha, the donut. Yes I know that one.

I took a quick peek at all the tutorials and, help I almost drowned in all the different angles all those guys and lasses took with all the tutorials.

First question is what do you exactly wish to use it for? Because you really need to have a very special unique selling point to make some money with 3D, if that is what you wish to use it for.

This CarolTheKitty like thing is something I really just don't understand, but I'm a boomer.

But if you wish to make renders of characters: start with character creation, then go on to sculpting and then cycles
