Hello Climate Designers!

Have you ever thought about the carbon footprint of your proposed designs? Or, perhaps, you are familiar with the concept of embodied carbon and life cycle analysis and don’t know where to start? Then this event is for you!

Join us to find out more about the carbon crisis within the construction industry. We will engage with the greenhouse gas emission crisis, embodied carbon calculations and why it is important for architects and designers to shift to a more circular economy.

Event’s format
🎬 Introductions and a brief overview of the climatedesigners.org initiative
👩🏼‍💻 Main session: We will discuss and explain terminologies and methodologies that as designers we need to be adopting in order to take the appropriate design decisions to revert the situation.
Finally, after an initial engagement, we would demonstrate how different carbon tools could help us take the appropriate decisions when it comes to building a new project or retrofitting an existing one by using one of the carbon calculator tools recommended by RIBA from Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios.

📅 The ZOOM link to attend will be shared by email a couple of hours before the start of the event with everyone who has RSVP’d
🔴 The main session will be recorded in order to make the learnings and key takeaways available to the wider creative community.
🕹 The carbon calculation tool will have a hands-on interactive component for which you'll get a download link to download before the event if you wish to test/calculate your own projects carbon footprint.

📹 Due to the friendly and inclusive nature of the climate designers community we encourage everyone to turn on their camera and actively engage with others during the final part of the event (networking in breakout rooms). However, you can also choose to only join for the main workshop session and then leave early. No hard feelings!

Hi, I’m Marinos, a freelance Architectural Designer from London, England, with great interest in circularity, carbon emissions and systemic design approaches. I work on different scales of projects and have adopted a peculiar design approach to ecological urban regeneration projects. There are ecosystems that need our support and as entrepreneurs and designers, we got the power to do something about it.
