Looking for a DOP to collab on an artistic short film
Hey friends!
I'm looking for a DOP and, eventually, a composer/sound designer to collaborate on a short film.
Together with a dancer friend, we’ve crafted a narrative short in which she is the sole performer. Our focus is on her character, fully immersing the audience in her world. She's an incredibly charismatic and creative contemporary dancer - just her presence has the potential to make each shot captivating.
The story follows a girl confined to a small space, until one day, a long-awaited visitor appears outside her window. It’s a tale of communication without words—sweet, sad, familiar, yet surreal and occasionally dark in tone.
Right now, we have a location and are deep into rehearsals, aiming to shoot a rough proof-of-concept film. We’re keeping things simple, bringing in friends to assist as needed. This project was born from fun and collaboration, and while there’s no budget, I’m happy to put whatever I can into production costs and equipment.
Despite its simplicity, having no major restrictions and unlimited access to our location and talent makes this a perfect opportunity to craft a strong visual aesthetic.
I’d love to connect with a DOP who’s interested in teaming up to bring this film to life.
Also, while not as urgent, I’d love to hear from composers/sound designers, as sound (and silence) will play a crucial role in the storytelling.
