Looking for feedback on my cover image, inspired by the Netflix documentary My Octopus Teacher

  • @Andrew Hopkins strange! I don't know why! I got this one though!

I've done my homework! Or - at least I've watched the trailer now :)
Knowing a bit more about it now I can see where you were coming from, but I still think the octo looks ominous and the distinction between the two isn't obvious. I thought there were two, one large "evil" octo and a smaller one, distracting the man from the danger. One of the reasons I think are that it looks like one big image, there's no distinction between the two. Another is because they're different colours, I didn't think they were the same octopus. I depends who the audience is I think!
  • Hey I really like your style, it's really editorial. I love the cover too, I've not seen the show though. I come from a children's book background so we're told to exaggerate things, what would it be like if you made the octopus really big and ominous (is he an ominous octo?) and the man smaller, smaller shows vulnerability. I might be getting the wrong idea because I've not seen the show. Have you though about throwing in some interesting perspectives, like looking wildly up or down from an angle, to express the depth? It's great as is, these are just things I would do from my education!
