Looking for Picture Editor (not a retoucher) for a potential project.

Looking to add a picture editor (or similar like a producer) to a proposal we are creating to work with an organisation that helps disabled people get into work. They want someone on board from May to October.

Skills and experience required
Essential
• Experience as a Picture Editor or similar.
• Experience commissioning photographers, booking models, sourcing and securing locations.
• Experience negotiating image rights and license agreements.
• Experience of directing successful photo shoots and managing props.
• Experience of using and developing Digital Asset Management Systems.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Excellent people management skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• An understanding of disability inclusion and the aims of this project .
• Availability part-time during May – October 2023.
• Availability for London-based photo shoots.

Desirable
• Experience of working in or with a membership organisation.
• Knowledge of the not-for-profit sector.

Deliverables
• Produce and maintain detailed project plan.
• Liaise with project steering group members at key points throughout. This will include comms and brand leads from business, people with diverse disabilities and others. (You may have Journalist or Picture Editor contacts to introduce as members).
• Produce shot list to result in a minimum of 400 images.
• Create brief and commission appropriate photographer(s) and post-production within budget. (We have some photography contacts you could approach, but welcome introductions)
• Approach the client members for suitable shoot locations, liaise directly with them and manage the relationship throughout.
• Approach model agencies, book disabled models from diverse backgrounds as required and arrange usage agreements within budget.
• Approach client member organisations and BDF staff as volunteer models, make all arrangements for booking, confirming and looking after individuals. Seek model consents and arrange reimbursement of expenses via the client.
• Be present at and direct all photo shoots, ensuring health and safety of all participants at the locations involved.
• Assist with development of image licence agreement for the client membership organisations to sign to use images.
• Direct and manage admin/image assistant (temp) to catalogue and upload all images to Resource Space Digital Asset Management System. (We welcome introductions to suitable candidates)
• Arrange user testing of DAM prior to the collection’s launch (planned for October 2023) to client membership.
• Manage project budget.
• Provide regular progress reports/catch up calls with Head of Communications and Marketing.
