PAY DELAY

I dunno ‘bout the rest of you, but I’m a tad dismayed,
I did a job pre-Christmas  and as yet have not been paid,
My payment terms were 14 days, it’s now been 104,
And there is fuck all I can do, I can’t afford the law.

I’ve grovelled and I’ve pleaded, it is all most unbecoming,
And said how much I need it, but no payment is forthcoming,
And honestly I wonder just how long will the delay be?
do they care that I am broke, are they ever going to pay me?

My invoices were overlooked, unfortunately they missed ‘em,
Not their fault you understand, a “glitch” within the system,
But everything’s been sorted now, they’ve paid the full amount,
Except that I’ve been rorted, how? It’s not in my account.

I did a job, I did it well, I got it done on time,
And now it’s three months later and I haven’t seen a dime. 
I’m tired of all the chasing just to try and get my fee, 
I may be a freelancer but that doesn’t mean I’m free.
