Join us for an intimate artist talk on 'Dear Dolly’ with Alice Hawkins in conversation with Gem Fletcher.
Hawkins will discuss the creative journey and process behind ‘Dear Dolly’. Through her work, Hawkins presents hyper-real photographic self-portraits appropriating the imagery and guises employed by country western sensation and American dream, Dolly Parton.
‘Dear Dolly’ illustrates in a symbolic way how Parton dismantles stereotypes surrounding class and female representations through her music and appearance, exploring constructs of character emphasizing the freedom to become whoever you want.
There will be an opportunity to purchase limited edition prints and signed books on the night.
