  • So would if be safe to say, print gives you that personal experience that digital lacks? Any digital preferrers out there? x
  • I LOVE print magazines, I never really look at online magazines tbh. I think it's good to have the option of both but as others have said, there's nothing like holding a print copy. (Especially if you have some of your own work in there!!)
  • @Alexandra (Lex) Hearth That’s interesting, food fir thought. Thanks Lex! x
  • @Lucky Acan I actually don't think so too much. Typically you'd think people have lower attention spans/less deep reads on digital, but I think as long as you have some lighter level pieces and that more 'entry level' content, then there's still lots of space and apetite for longer form on Digital. Cleopatras is also purposefully anti clickbait, so it was a decision I made to not sacrifice the tone and output I wanted for it x
  • @Alexandra (Lex) Hearth Did you feel you had to change the direction of your digital magazine? I.e tone of voice, type of content? X
  • Good point about being able to embed video in digital! Well, forward thinking magazine’s are trying to work their way around this. Lighthouse publishing has created virtual reality covers for iOS and Android users! Vogue Portugal, GQ are some publications that have tried this out. What do you think? :)

  • Hey Lucky, print also has a good visibility advantage in that you can get it physically on shelves and sell an actual product to people. But it does come with start up costs and quite a few logistical challenges! I went digital also because of the video point raised below, Lex x
  • @Lucky Acan Yeah, of course. I totally appreciate that. It's really just my preference. Kinda like the difference between streaming music and buying a copy of it on vinyl, along with the benefit of how the record's been pressed, the artwork etc.
  • @Kid Circus Good point, thanks for sharing! What about the fact it’s cheaper to go down the digital road and easier to reach a wider audience?

  • Digital is great, and convenient.
    BUT
There's nothing like picking up a copy of a magazine and having something physical to leaf through, feel the quality of the paper and the colours on the printed page. :)
