I currently work for a gallery called Southern Stars Projects, which specialises in work from the global south, aiming to shift the canon and champion artists under the southern stars.
We have an exhibition coming up in just over a week showcasing the work of Dalila Dalléas Bouzar, an Algerian artist whose work deals with oppression and freedom - attempting to defy the colonial gaze through her powerful portraits.
On Friday 29 and Saturday 30 April, Dalléas Bouzar will hold two gallery-based painting sessions to create a series of portraits of Londoners from a diverse pool of communities, engaging audiences in her practice. After this exciting two day performance, the works will be exhibited in the gallery space for a further week.
Share your email with firstname.lastname@example.org if you wish to be painted by Dalila.
