There’s no shortage of advice for freelancers - do this, don’t do that. So what works? Well…
Everything, simply because it would’ve worked for someone else.
That doesn’t mean it works for you.
So the absolute best advice isn’t advice at all - it’s to just try it.
Trial and error. Fail fast. Learn what works for you by finding out what doesn’t.
The best part is, it builds conviction. Once you understand why something doesn’t work for you, you can discard it and double down on something else.
Focus on understanding who your client is and what you offer them, after that…
…make it up as you go along.
Just like everyone else.
PS - the only piece of advice I would give is to never, ever compare your progress to anyone else’s. Ever.
