Tips on how to build a great creative CV? I’ve been struggling with it

  • Include metrics where possible, show the impact of what you have done. I pitched x to x clients and drove a revenue increase of x. It might not always apply to each task but people like numbers and it breaks up words!
  • Hi Hollie-May,
    If you are looking for some general pointers, I hope the below will help:
    - build your CV with someone in mind who will only look at it for a few seconds: make sure to highlight your name, title, website link and other important bits so it’s easy to skim
    - Adding a little bio could help to bring more personality to your CV
    - Fit onto one A4 page
    - with most CVs being read digitally landscape format is your friend (less scrolling required for someone else and you can integrate within portfolios etc much quicker)
    - Design it in a way it fits your website / social / portfolio design.

    Enjoy creating your CV. The good thing is – once you have a format you like it will last you for years...
  • I had a similar struggle a couple of years back and asked for pointers from people- some real good points in this thread;

    Could you give a little more about what you're struggling with? Is it the content or the layout?
