We'd love to hear what's been your positive experience of lockdown?

Hello, The Dots awesome community!

Lizzy and I, co-founded We Are Powerful Creators at the beginning of lockdown, and have found this time and experience to be super creative.

We'd love to hear what your positive experiences have been over the last five months?

  • I have used this time to learn new things! I taught myself how to use Blender from scratch, and now i’m making projects from my imagination without the need of tutorials which I believe is quite the achievement. I also have been learning how to develop my brand on Instagram, posting my projects and trying to develop my page!
  • @Olufunke Afolabi this is absolutely brilliant to hear. Very exciting that you are ready to come to the UK and have achieved so many positive results already. Thanks for sharing.
  • I’ve had more time to work on my photography, restructure my businesses and work on improving my brand management skills by taking advantage of the numerous classes online. This lock down also made me realize that I am ready to relocate to the Uk. I also had time to work on two websites for my businesses www.elpismegalio.com and www.artrovia.com. It’s been very productive for me.
  • @Denis Robinson that’s brilliant to hear. Great that you’ve accelerated the learning from years into a matter of months and now you are ahead of the game in a new direction! Thanks so much for sharing.
  • @Claire Koryczan Excellent! https://anchor.fm/sproutpodcast It’s available on most platforms. And bear with me, I’m recording the transition and more interviews soon.
  • @Jenna St John fantastic that your interviews and insights are a podcast series. How can we listen? We’d love too.
Very exciting that you're continuing this come September! Thanks so much for sharing :)
  • Hi!
I have to say that the most positive experiences these past 5 months have to do with having more time!
Finishing my 2nd year of uni made me wish for time to slow down and that’s exactly what I got haha. I spent more time with my family, spent more time creatively on personal projects, rekindled my love for baking and the most productive of all was starting a 9am daily workout sesh with my friends where we all take turns leading the workout!
  • I started interviewing businesses that were growing and thriving in lockdown and turned it into a podcast mini series. I enjoyed the interviews so much I’m carrying it on from September. So I guess I’ve started a podcast!
  • however (this needed to go in a seperate reply) my fave thing of all was that i pivoted my whole business and was able to build a new membership platform !! woohoooo... and our team grew, we have 24 ambassadors now and they are worldwide. despite many hardships that this season brings, i see so many blessings and im so grateful. <3 how did you find it ?
  • oh and ... i love being by myself. im an extrovert turned introvert!!! but now im back at work and LOVING being around people. thriving off human energy. but me and zoom are still besties :)
  • wow i have sooo many things to say honestly. i got furloughed and was able to focus on my 2 real passions - my business modelme + acting! i got to be a fulltime business woman for first time ever!!! and i was doing acting twice a week on zoom and have produced some of my best work... on zoom (wild lol), i have found a new level of stillness that i never had before, grown stronger in my faith!!! i realised i dont need a gym to workout (lol lies i told myself before), i actually cooked for myself, i realised whos REALLY important to me (i knew before but now, i know doubly!), learnt how to SLEEP (very important)... the list. goes. on!!!
  • Hi

During the lockdown and with the business going slower, for sure it gave me more time to study and learn new skills to be a top of my game. And since I love learning, I consider that a positive experience :)
