- I'd recomend The Design of Lettering by Egon Weiss. This is a bit of an old one (published 1932) but goes through traditional processes for letter design. I also like the fact it takes on a little different perspective on type coming from letting in architecture; so looking at systems for engraving and enivormental type design.
- I'm in love with 'Revival Type' by Paul Shaw. It explains so many of our most used digital typefaces and you can read when and how they were originally created. Definitely a worthy publication for your library.
