- Keep your room cool. Turn off all electronics. Keep a routine sleep schedule.
- Falling asleep to Insight Timer's free sleep meditations (https://insighttimer.com)
- Here’s a boring one but good for preparing you for sleep - slowly count down from 1000 (in your head, maybe visualising the numbers). Disregard any other thoughts while doing so :)
- Breathing 3x ( 4 in - 7 out) slow and present :)
- Keeping my phone outside of my room or at least away from my bedside and get inside my bed 30 mins before I plan to fall asleep.
- Make sure your design is tested on end users! If you’re doing digital design of course.
- No coffe or computers/phones for 2 hours before you go to bed.
- Reading in bed for half an hour before turning off my bedside lamp for bed!
- Going for a swim at some point in the day. A hot bath before bed. Listening to Solfeggio Frequencies while I sleep
- I play hockey between 7 - 9 every tuesday evening. I sleep like a baby afterwards!
- Agree with most of the tips here. Any warm drinks without caffeine, soothing music, podcasts or even watching something relaxing and calming helps. Reading something nice just before bedtime is a failsafe tip to get a good sleep. Avoiding anything that is too stimulating during nighttime can be very effective for a peaceful slumber.
- Excercise, but not after 6pm. No Caffiene after midday, switch to camomile. Don't do or think about anything that will stimulate your brain near bed time. Sweet dreams.
- 1 1/2 hours run or 2 to 3 hours walk, then a meal
- Sleep yoga sequence with the wonderful Lisa Sanfilippo is a winner everytime: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hzefhcm9YQwOther sleepy items: Chamomile tea, meditation, electronic devices on night shift/ flightmode, essential oils and a good book to read under the covers.
- No phone 2 hours before bedtime, herbal tea and a bit of reading/journal/diary (writing down three great things that happened that day!) or audio book!
- Exercising regularly and staying away from my phone/tablet/laptop at least an hour before I want to sleep.
- Sleep breathing technique. I'm gone within five every time!
- Deep Stretch Yoga!
- exactly what Brendan says... stay off the phoe after a certain hour!
- Plenty of exercise, as in overload your system and a good healthy diet.
- Pukka night time tea and trying (and failing) to leave the phone in another room and not take it to bed
- Exercise
