- I've been trying to use Clubhouse, but I've struggled to really "get into it".If the discussions are guided and there is structure, then it's brilliant. However, some conversations seem to go off tangent, without delivering any real value. Then, it becomes a battle of the egos.I think the key is to have strong hosts to facilitate to chat.
- I love it. I’ve been on the app since August when it it was less than 7,000 users and whilst it’s changed a lot, it still adds value. Follow clubs and people who you’re interested in and don’t worry about building a following unless you want to create a stage from which you can monetise. If you’re interested in the former, start a club and host regular rooms. It will take a bit of time but if the content is good, your club will grow.
- Highly, highly recommended. Twitter Spaces, too (which might even have more potential & currently feels like a more elegant implementation of the drop-in audio model, in my opinion). Ideal for anyone with a networking, speaking, persuasion, education & information agenda. Also ideal for people who love learning.Powerful tool if you want to use the opportunities to speak in the rooms to work on your messaging, self-confidence, speaking & presentation skills.Accelerates one-to-one connections faster than any networking model I've ever seen in 30-odd years in business. And for an introvert like me, that's gold.Met a seven-figure social media entrepreneur & was invited to become one of their mutual accountability partners. They approached me days after I'd introduced myself on their Clubhouse stage.Let's be clear: I am not in their league, revenue-wise. But if you pick the smaller rooms, & can contribute generously & genuinely to conversations you're actually interested in, opportunities to make significant connections that go somewhere fast will emerge. As with all social media, I need to ensure I'm using it & it's not using me. Otherwise, yes, I could be wasting hours on it. But as I love learning & am naturally curious, I do enjoy listening in with pad & pencil, having carefully side-stepped the 'willy-wangers'…(!)
