What does self-care look like to you currently?
Replies27
- Currently - finding a routine that works for me, but not being hard on myself if I don't stick to it rigidly!
- I've been sticking to my morning routine by setting my alarm and getting outdoors in the morning to do a run or a free IGTV Psycle Class. Some fresh air in the morning helps to keep me feeling energised for the day.
- Making sure to record all of your achievements and what you would like to accomplish, no matter how small, it helps to visualise what you want from the future.
- @Richard Robinson I totally agree on that one, self-managing my time in isolation makes me better understand real from projected professional priorities
- Managing frustration and learning to be patient. Also taking this as an opportunity to isolate my mind a bit with a social media detox, allowing to go deeper instead of wider. And absolutely not baking bread.
- Separating what I could be doing from what I need to be doing. Also separating time. I've never worked a 9-5-5 work schedule because life operates on much bigger level than that (130 hours more to be precise), however, being able to separate spaces of time so that 9-5 and 5-9 don't seamlessly become one fluid, never-ending loop has meant I can stay focused and doing the things that will make a difference.
- Words of affirmation by speaking your future into existence. 'I AM a happy and successful pilot' instead of 'I WANT to be a happy and successful pilot'.
- What an important question!I've actually just made an eBook for some colleagues. It's an introduction to some Self-Care techniques, made especially for self-care Newbies.Lots of fun, words of support and fresh ideas. I'm happy to send it to whoever would like to take a look. Just PM me your email if interested! We have to stick together =)Stay safe and sane,
- @Chloe Pierre Totally!
- Creating some sort of routine to follow, as well as setting time aside to relax and focus on myself.
- @Emilie Lim Absolutely!
- @Kid Circus I agree. Never take life granted. Even being in this situation made me realised more of what I can improve on that I wouldn’t have known before this.
- Planing my day, Looking after my hair and beard. Making sure that i am well Spritually and mentally and also, taking time for myslef to chill and relax.
- @Cristina De Montserrat Has thios been a little overwhelming at times?
- Doing everything I left aside because of social commitments.
- Returning to things that I'm passionate about that aren't necessarily monetary connected (yet! haha). Things like writing in particular. I'm writing a lot and it's helped me reconnect with my soul and emotions a lot more.
- No reading the news mainly ;)
- Agree with all of the points made already. I'd just add communicating regularly with the people you love that you may not be able to physically spend time with. A good chat and a laugh with a friend, albeit via facetime, Skype etc can do wonders for your mental wellbeing.
- Morinig and Evening routine. Start the day with exercise and coffee and look through emails etc.Try and do creative projects each day and then have the evenings to unwind and chill.
- Practising yoga, taking it easy on yourself & self reflection
- Being kind to myself. It's easy to feel guilty for not being productive enough as well as being too busy, so I find it important to be mindful about feeling well and just being.
- During this time especially, self care is doing the least harm to yourself. It doesn’t have to be just face-masks and exercising. Sometimes it’s sleeping, playing video games, or eating what makes you happy. Self care is not punishing yourself.
- Im still working or pitching as I have no financial support. But I try to get out once a day, whether thats for a run, to walk tohe dogs or enjoy a wine in the garden!
- Being mindful of your your mental (emotional) and physical health and well being.I start the day with a full glass of water to flush and at the same time kick start my metabolism /f ollowed by a spoonful of honey to replenish blood sugar / chant a sutra to sharpen my focus and concentration /short meditation / exercise and breakfast /work: housework, writing /shopping and errands / rest / relax and read or watch a movie.
