What is a not very well known film that you wish more people knew about?

Many people replied to Robert Gershinson's post about great films with classic titles that we have all heard of and we can rewatch again and again, but what are some films most people don't know that you think are hidden gems? My choice is a German film called Never Look Away. It's directed by Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck and shot by Caleb Deschanel. Tom Schilling is great in the role inspired by Gerhard Richter. It's about an artist coming of age in WWII Germany and how that shapes him as a person and makes its way into his art. It's a much greater film than I can possibly say in a quick summary and I wish more people watched it.
Your turn.

  • Sounds of Metal. It came out end of last year but didn't made it to the cinemas because of covid. To me the best movie of 2020.
  • Hunger directed by Steve Mcqueen! A brilliant balance between cinematography , captivating screenplay (not that much dialogue) and top notch Acting!
  • it's definitely not a classic but 'The Peanut Butter Falcon' was one of my favorites movies on 2019 and not many people have seen it. Also, the cinematography is outstanding despite having a ridiculously low budget.
