  • Deezer, Sptify and Yutube (top tip: install addblock for chrome for no adverts on youtube and deezer :D )
  • @Isabel Serval Ah briliant that's a great suggestion, thank you so much :)
  • @Beatrice Lui Ahh I haven't heard of Luminary before and Acast has definitely been on my radar - thank you so much for your suggestions this is super helpful :)
  • @Mosh Balogun Hahaha it's like we're having opposite problems with the app!
  • @Eugene Ekuban Ah that's an alternative that I never really considered! Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, will give Google podcasts a go :)
  • @Hugh Waldren Yeah got some great responses so far! Seems like lots of people are using Spotify so might try that out :)
  • I've always been using Spotify simply because I didn't like to keep shifting apps, until recently started exploring Luminary and Acast and they are both good.
  • I usually use the Appl Podcast app, but lately I've been using Spotify and I find it way nicer
  • I currently use google podcasts and spotify, although I definitely prefer Google podcasts, ui is great and it is purpose-built for podcasts, although I used to use castbox and enjoyed my experience there too
  • @Cathy Wang this is great question! (Something i wanted to ask myself actually)
I use the stadard Apple one as whenever i search 'best X podcasts' to listen to the lists always seem to advise finding them on there. But the app is a little lifeless and doesn't really lead me towards much discovery, so am interested to know what everyone elses is using.
  • @Mosh Balogun Ahh I've been having some problems with the Apple podcast app recently (which is why i'm looking for alternatives) - have you been experiencing anything like that?
  • @Harry Harrison Ooo this looks very promising! Thanks so much for the recommendation Harry :)
  • I used to use just Apple Podcast's app but they make a few simple things quite difficult so I recently switched to Overcast which is pretty good.

  • @Kid Circus Ahh i see, maybe it's time for me to migrate my music over to Spotify haha :) Thanks so much for answering!
  • @Cathy Wang I think for me it was having podcasts and music in one place. So I was already starting to download my favourite albums for offline listening and it just seemed logical that I may as well do the same for my fave podcast episodes on the same platform. :)
  • @Cathy Wang I personally switched just to have the one app for everything! Think the UI is a lot better, and the choice is the same.
  • @Kid Circus Ah what made you switch over to Spotify? Interested to hear about it :)
  • @Brendan McKnight Ah thanks for the recommendation! Currently using Apple because I like having my music and podcasts all in one too but I've been finding the experience pretty frustrating sometimes (podcasts don't auto download, no syncing between laptop and phone, podcasts stopping randomly), so it might be worth making the jump and paying for an app :)
