Why did I set up EDIT Recruitment - Digital & Technical Recruitment Specialists at the start of a global pandemic?

Early in my career, I was a hands-on IT Engineer dealing with desktop support, network support, software support, integrations, and planning. I worked in many areas, from my hometown of Hull, Leeds, and London.

The frustrating part of recruitment I found as a "candidate", is many agencies I worked with to secure roles wouldn't keep me updated throughout the process. Frustratingly, I had to chase, I found recruiters would allow me to apply for "ghost ads" and would initially speak to me and I wouldn't hear back at all.

I have been fortunate throughout my career to also be on the hiring manager side of recruitment. Similar frustrations occurred when using well-known brands for the acquisition of Web Developers and UI / UX Designers.

With these frustrations, I decided to headhunt the talent internally, and whilst a technical director at the time, I had great success in doing so.

That was when I decided to set up EDIT Recruitment - Digital & Technical Recruitment Specialists back in March 2020. The company foundation was built on the ability to treat people like people and not as a product, which gives us the edge on the market as we are one of the most personable recruitment agencies in the country. (Google reviews prove it.)

Our foundations are also our ethos and with that, we ensure as a group of experts we personally connect and continue our candidate-led approach.
