Working with Belmont Magazine and we’re asking for your opinions to feature! What’s your thought on childhood discipline?

Working on a piece which needs your voice! I'm asking the team as well as people outside of our team to get some diverse responses to the following:

In light of Selah Marley's depiction of childhood discipline under mother Lauryn Hill - I want your take on childhood discipline for a piece by me. Would love to hear from various cultural backgrounds as well as your thoughts on childhood discipline and its place in society today or a response to the Lauryn Hill story which can be found here

Not all will be used in the final edit and I will edit commentaries for clarity and length but ensure they remain authentic to your voice.

  • The older generations like my grandparents back in Colombia, it was seen okay to casually slap your child when it misbehaves. Thank god my parents were very forward-thinking and they never ever hit me. At home, if we misbehave we got the "time out."
