This course is the perfect blend of, learning the anatomy of the horse, and loose expressive sketching.
Horses can be tricky subjects. Emily will be giving students a gentle introduction to the anatomy of the horse, as well as sharing a few of her favourite proportional tricks that have helped her enormously over the years.
Throughout the day you will also be loosening up with timed sketches. Emily has found timed sketching hugely beneficial for improving her drawing skills. It will be fun to see your sketches improve and evolve throughout the day. This will be a day of both learning, one of letting go and having fun.
This course will change the way you see your subjects, and give you a new set of tools to carry forward into all you animal drawings.
Nature in Art runs courses throughout the year covering a variety of subjects and mediums, catering for all levels from beginners to advanced.
Most courses are run by practicing artists who have work in our collection and/or have been an artist in residence at Nature in Art. The courses are held in our purpose built education centre. Class sizes are kept between 6-12 people to ensure you receive individual attention from the tutor whilst enjoying the social aspect of working alongside others.
