2 day course: Introduction to Printmaking
Saturday 10th September – Sunday 11th September
11am-5pm (including lunch break)

Introduction to Printmaking is a two-day course led by artist Robyn Lawrence. During this course, students will be introduced to screen printing and relief printing techniques.
During the 2day weekend course, students will be introduced to screen printing, including making their own stencils of shapes, text and basic image forms to screen print with and learn how to layer colour. Students will also explore relief-printing techniques, including lino engraving and relief printing with coloured inks and repurposed found materials – taking inspiration from the Tenant of Culture exhibition at Camden Art Centre.
Students will experiment with specialized printmaking equipment and also learn accessible printmaking techniques that can be practiced easily at home, embracing the experimental nature of print.
This course will cover:
  • Stencil making (shapes, text, basic image form)
  • Screen printing with colour
  • Lino engraving and relief printing
  • Repurposing found material for printing
