The Koppel Project are pleased to present a Screening and Q&A with Forging The Self exhibiting artist Iulia Filipovscaia
'A Deepening’ is a state-consciousness video animation created in collaboration with Mihaly Sipos, which was presented for the first time at the ’Forging the Self’ exhibition as part of a site-specific mixed-media installation called 'The Motherboard’.
After a one-minute screening of the animation, Iulia will illustrate the concept behind it, how it informs our reality, the different types of application and its function of visual basis for the 'Voice of Source', an holistic system based on alchemy developed by her.
Alchemical studies have always represented the original source of truth for the artist: from astrology and herbalism, to shamanism and the most recent theories on consciousness, this ancient set of practices has been the underlying foundation of her work.
As a selection of the artwork was acquired whilst on a shamanic journey, we will close our gathering with a collective trip to a non-ordinary reality, creating a space for imaginative encounters and shifted forms of consciousness.
