As part of the UK/Australia Season, the British Council are partnering with the Australian Performing Arts Market (APAM) to deliver an introduction to the Australian Sector for UK artists and organisations.

The session will give an overview of touring to Australia and working with Australian based artists and companies. It will include the following areas:

• Protocols for using First Nations Cultural and Intellectual Property in the Arts led by Trish Adjei, Australia Council

• Self-determination as the driving force of First Nations performance practice led by members of APAM’s First Nations Advisory Group

• How to build relationships in Australia, a guide to touring and logistics and the festival circuit.

Breakout rooms (focused across visual arts and performing arts) are available to discuss the following:

• What does the Australian arts sector look like in 2022?

• What are we known for internationally?

• What are the essential conversations and dialogues taking place?

• Where are we in rebuilding post the disruption of COVID?
