Organised by Art UK
Art Unlocked is a new online event series brought to you by Art UK in collaboration with Bloomberg Philanthropies. Each week, different museum and gallery curators and directors from across the UK will deliver a 30-minute talk on selected works from their collection.
For our latest talk, join Art UK and Nigel Blackamore, Senior Curator at y Gaer Museum, Art Gallery & Library, for an exciting exploration of some notable works from this collection on 18th August 2021, 5:30pm.
Art Unlocked is delivered over Zoom Webinar. You will be sent the link to join a few days before the talk is scheduled to take place. There will be a short Q&A session after the talk.
The talk is free but there is the option to donate to Art UK and y Gaer alongside your ticket. Any donations are much appreciated and go towards supporting the UK's national collection.
About y Gaer - Museum, Art Gallery & Library
y Gaer – Museum, Art Gallery & Library is a new cultural venue at the heart of Brecon, it includes Brecknock Museum and Brecon Library. The Museum was established in 1928 and remains housed within the Grade II* listed old Shire Hall in Brecon. It holds a significant art collection, spanning the eighteenth century to the present day. The collection is particularly strong in contemporary art with a local Welsh connection. Both the art and artefact collections began with the aim of acquiring works and objects with a local importance to the former county of Brecknockshire.
