The latest in the Art Unlocked series. Join Art UK and The Barber Institute in exploring selected artworks from their collection.

About this event
Art Unlocked is a new online event series brought to you by Art UK in collaboration with Bloomberg Philanthropies. Each week, different museum and gallery curators and directors from across the UK will deliver a 30-minute talk on selected works from their collection.

For our latest talk, join Art UK and Robert Wenley, Head of Collections and Deputy Director at The Barber Institute of Fine Arts, for an exciting exploration of some notable works from this Birmingham collection on 14th July 2021, 5:30pm.

Art Unlocked is delivered over Zoom Webinar. You will be sent the link to join a few days before the talk is scheduled to take place. There will be a short Q&A session after the talk.

The talk is free but there is the option to donate to Art UK and The Barber Institute of Fine Arts alongside your ticket. Any donations are much appreciated and go towards supporting the UK's national collection.

About The Barber Institute of Fine Arts
Founded by Hattie, Lady Barber in 1932, the collection offers a brilliant but concise survey of European painting from the 13th to 20th centuries. It features outstanding paintings by such leading masters as Giovanni Bellini, Gossart, Veronese, Rubens, Poussin, Murillo, Gainsborough, Canaletto, Vigée Lebrun, Manet, Degas, Gauguin, Bellows, Magritte and Auerbach. There is a fine collection of works on paper to match, and smaller but important groups of sculpture and decorative arts. The Barber building itself is a Grade I-listed Art Deco masterpiece, set amidst the University of Birmingham’s leafy campus.

You can follow The Barber Institute on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
