The former poet laureate will join us to talk about her new anthology of love poems in this special livestreamed event.

Love is a selection of Duffy’s personal favourites from across her many collections. Written over four decades, these poems explore love in all its forms: desire, wild infatuation, seduction, adultery, despair and devotion.
This collection is one of four new anthologies from the former poet laureate, with the others exploring politics, nature and grief.
Duffy is one of our best-loved contemporary poets. She won the 1983 National Poetry Competition while in her 20s, and in 2009 she became the first woman to be appointed poet laureate, a post she held for a decade. She has won many awards, including the Whitbread, the Forward, the Costa Poetry and the T.S. Eliot prizes. In 2021, she was awarded the Golden Wreath, an international recognition for her achievements in poetry.
This event is part of our online Book Club series, in which the Guardian’s chief books writer, Lisa Allardice, talks to leading writers about their work and creative process. They will also be answering your questions at this livestreamed event. Bring your own wine!
