Join the Leica Akademie and London based photographer Kane Hulse for this full day workshop focused on capturing colour and form in the urban landscape.
This workshop will take you on a journey to create your own urban landscape story with colour, light and shape amongst the architectural background of post war London.
The workshop begins with a coffee and a briefing of the days route, camera set-up session and a discussion of techniques and tricks to get you started.
Following this you will head to the sprawling architectural wonder of the Barbican Estate, where you will be guided through the process of creating striking urban landscape photographs starting from the basics of location scouting and creating a unique composition to understanding the technical skills and tricks required for architectural and urban photography.
Continuing on from the morning’s session, the afternoon will be spent at the urban village of the Golden Lane Estate, where the focus will be on forming an independent project on the location using the skills you have learnt earlier in the day. Kane will be moving throughout the group in the afternoon offering tailored advice based on your project and skill set.
The session will end with a drink in the local area and a chance to debrief and ask any further questions.
Throughout the day, the group will have plenty of opportunity to spread out and shoot independently to create their own photographic story and Kane and the Leica Akademie tutor will always be on hand to dispense advice.
Who should attend:
This workshop is open to all skill levels. All camera formats are welcome, both digital or film. The tutors are proficient in both mediums and can offer advice on each.
Participants do not need a Leica Camera to attend.
Important information:
This workshop will be conducted outdoors; it is recommended appropriate clothing and footwear are worn and participants are comfortable walking 0.5 to 1 miles in a day.
