Creative and Cultural Opportunities Programme is a 3-week programme for young people (18-30) living in Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets and Waltham Forest.

Explore your skills and interests and celebrate what you have to offer the creative, cultural and digital industries. Meet a network of young creatives, take part in workshops, mentoring, visits, talks and respond to live briefs to get inspired, build confidence and equip yourself to make the next step in your career.

Inviting young people with interests across the sector including museums and galleries, fashion and design, TV, radio, film and broadcasting, dance, theatre and performance, tech and gaming the programme aims to give you greater visibility to these industries.

Get insight into the organisations in your local area, the jobs and roles on your doorstep and beyond. The programme offers time to sharpen your employability skills, build your own creative identity, connect with employers and other young creatives get support to apply to live opportunities.

Creative and Cultural Opportunities Programme will introduce you to local creative employers to explore what goes on behind the scenes, discover hidden job roles and the skills required to access them.

Get a strong foundation in shaping your narrative to engage employers and businesses.

Access regular 1-2-1 check ins with Good Growth Hub staff, live drop-ins with creative employers for advice and guidance from people working in the field. In the final week, you’ll have a choice of live briefs set by local partners, to build your portfolio, present your ideas and get feedback on your work.

Our partners include Sadler’s Wells, UCL Culture, Whitechapel Gallery with more to be announced. Previous partners include Channel 4, The Almeida, Tate, Studio Wayne McGregor, White Light, The Trampery, Blackhorse Lane Ateliers, Blackhorse Workshop, Stratford Circus Arts Centre, William Morris Gallery.

The Good Growth Hub is part of the London Legacy Development Corporation's plan to connect businesses surrounding east London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, with local talent through a wide range of employment, skills and enterprise activites and programmes. The Good Growth Hub is operated by A New Direction,

Creative and Cultural Opportunities Programme is delivered in a partnership with Creative Society.

Who is it for?

Young east Londoners aged 18-30 interested in one or more of the following:

-Museums and galleries
-Fashion and design
-Film, TV, radio and broadcasting
-Dance, theatre and performance
-Tech and gaming

Currently unemployed or underemployed, and not in full-time education.

You must be available to attend in-person workshops and events at the Good Growth Hub in Hackney Wick and occasionally other venues across London 10am to 5pm, Monday to Friday from 14 February to 4 March 2022.
